Animation - series of images which are display in order to make a illusion of movement. We can create 2D or 3D animation and we have to use equipment such as for example computer to make it. To create the illusion of movement, on the computer screen displays a image, and then quickly turns it to the next, similar to the previous, but with slight changes in the position of objects.
- Research and find out about two different early forms of animation.
What is each called? Describe how they were made and add some images to your description.
a) Traditional animation - to create this animation all drawings are a bit different from another in order to make illusion of motion.
An example of traditional animation, a horse animated by rotoscoping from Eadweard Muybridge's 19th century photos
b) Stop motion - to create this animation we take a severals photoa of real object while we change its position.
A stop-motion animation of a moving coin
- Research and find out about two different types of contemporary animation.
What is each called? Describe how they were made and again add some images (screengrabs) and/or youtube links to your description.
a) 2D animation - created on computer by using 2D bitmap and 2D vector graphic.
b) 3D animation - interact between virtual world and characters. World seems to be real.
Contemporary animation is created in shorter time, look more real and make on computers.
- Which is your favourite animation and why do you like it?
My favourite animation is 3D because it gives the designer an opportunity to create a new, different world which looks real. In this kind of animation we can make characters that interact with our virtual world.
